ABOUT JULIA NEWMAN

 

 

Julia Newman is a filmmaker and writer from Short Hills, NJ. She currently studies television production and screenwriting at Emerson College in Boston, MA.

In Boston, Julia directs a student-produced sitcom about four college roommates. She also produces various films both in television studios and in the field.

 

Julia works as a freelance filmmaker and photographer as well.

 

Her latest short documentary, "Love & Equality Rally," screened at the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival in NYC. Another recent environmental film, “The Enigmatic Life Cycle of Waste” won an award at the 2016 Best Shorts Competition (online, worldwide) and was selected to play at the “I Imagine Film Festival” in NYC.

 

Other film festival credits include the Awareness Film Festival (L.A), Oktoberfest (Harlem, NYC), Gold Coast International Film Festival (Long Island, NY), and Millburn Film Fest (NJ). Julia won the Keller-Williams film competition, “Growing Up Millburn.”
